| With a total population of approximately 2.1 million, Wayne
County is the most populous county in the State of Michigan and the
eighth most populous county in the nation. There are 34 school
districts in 43 Wayne County communities serving approximately
332,000 students. Additionally, there are 65 Public School Academies
(PSAs) serving 33,000 students for a combined total of more than
365,000 students in public schools county-wide. Wayne County is the
most culturally and linguistically diverse community in the state of
Michigan with the school age population representing nearly 40
