Life on Other Planets in the Solar System

The MEAP is assessing Space Science for the first time in 1999.

Let's Face It... Space is in the news. From John Glenn going back to space ... to Meteorites from Mars with possible signs of Life... to Jupiter's icy ocean moon Europa

Join in a two-part teleconference at RESA's Electronic Classroom on October 29th and November 17th as we explore the Question: "Is there life on other planets in the Solar System?".

We will use the internet and cable tv to make this an interactive, student-inquiry driven event. Students will "think-pair-share" on the question. They will meet Experts on Life and Space. There will be a twenty minute period during which the students will form teams and start research:

• using the internet,
• contacting the experts thru a chat room or calling in on phone,
• accessing a special website which RESA has put together for research
• using the materials that are available in the classroom.

Students will hypothesize and then report back on their discoveries.
