Wayne RESA has designed and implemented a professional development model to provide early literacy training for special education teachers throughout Wayne County.  Since 2006-2007, Special Education Literacy Connections Training (SELCT) has sought to instill in teachers a deep understanding of how children acquire oral language, learn to read, and express themselves in writing.  This is accomplished through an intense focus on implementing and sustaining e!ective instructional practices.
