FALL HEADCOUNT

Preliminary special education headcount numbers, based on each district and public school academy certified reports in the Michigan Student Data System (MSDS) are summarized in the following report:

2011 Fall Special Education Count Preliminary Numbers

Beginning with the 2011-12 school year, the Special Education Headcount will not longer be a separate submission. The headcount will be incorporated into the general fall collection for all students. The Fall count will be October 5, 2011. All student data will be submitted to the Michigan Student Data System (MSDS), with the exception of the Early On count. The count of students will be used by the Michigan Department of Education Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services (MDE-OSE/EIS) for annual federal reporting to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). The count data will also be used to determine funding allocations for special education programs and services and for the calculation of compliance determinations.
