Instructional Technology

Moodle is an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. Moodle is an online Learning Management System (LMS) that many educators use to extend/supplement their classroom instruction by posting instructional links, classroom documents, videos, and facilitating online discussions. It is similar to Blackboard, Desire2Learn, etc., but has no licensing fees because it is an open source LMS.

Wayne RESA also hosts Moodle instances for most of Wayne County school districts. Each site has a unique URL and is managed locally with the assistance of local district teachers/technology director. Please contact your technology director to get information about how you can get access to your district Moodle site. For questions or problems with Moodle, please send an email with details to the Moodle support team at
