INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF-EMPLOYED DRIVERS

School bus driver in between employers (or unemployed)

If you are a self-employed driver and you wish to keep your driving credentials current, you must enroll yourself using our online enrollment form (using the link above). (Enrollments CANNOT be taken over the phone.) Additionally, you must mail your course fee ($20 check or money order) to our office in order to receive your enrollment confirmation. (Enrollments WILL NOT be completed or confirmed without the $20 class fee.) Please mail your check or money order to:

Transportation Supervisors

Mandated Transportation Supervisor Training

Wayne RESA Pupil Transportation has COMPLETED in-classroom Supervisor course offerings for 2014.  Those who have not yet completed the requirements may still complete the courses ONLINE.

Please remember that the Michigan Department of Education has separated Transportation Supervisor training into two three-hour segments. YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH SEGMENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A SUPERVISOR CARD.  For instructions on how to access the ONLINE courses, please contact the Wayne RESA Pupil Transportation Office.  If you still have questions AFTER receiving the instructions, please call Kim Hooper at 734.334.1319.

Once Supervisors have completed BOTH segments, and the proper documentation is e-mailed to our office (per the instructions you receive), you will be eligible for a new Transportation Supervisor card, which will have an expiration date of 9/30/2016.  New cards will be mailed to Supervisors after course requirements are completed.

(*If you have ALREADY RECEIVED your supervisor card with an expiration date of 9/30/2016, you DO NOT need to complete courses at this time.*)

Please Note:  Public Act 187 states, "The person or persons in charge of school bus operations at a school shall successfully complete 6 hours of supervisory continuing education every 2 years after the successful completion of the beginning school bus driver training program."  If you have additional questions regarding supervisor training, please contact Kim Hooper at 734.334.1319.
