Please join us for an intensive eight-day training of Cognitive Coaching Seminars® facilitated by a Thinking Collaborative facilitator. Participants of the foundations seminar learn how to: develop trust and rapport; develop an identity as a mediator of thinking; utilize conversation structures for planning, reflecting and problem resolving; develop teachers’ autonomy and sense of community; develop higher levels of efficacy, consciousness, craftsmanship, flexibility and interdependence; apply four support functions: coaching, evaluating, consulting, collaborating; utilize the coaching tools of pausing, paraphrasing, and posing questions; distinguish among the five forms of feedback; and use data to mediate thinking. Agendas for Days 1–4 include the Planning Conversation Map and the Reflecting Conversation Map as well as the tools of Cognitive Coaching SM. Days 5–8 provide for skill refinement and understanding of the Problem-Resolving Map.

This interactive and engaging training will build on the evidence-based practices introduced in ASD Behavior Lab Part 1(October 15, 2024, March 18, 2025, and October 23, 2025). Participants will deepen their understanding of how to practically implement and apply strategies in real-world classroom settings. The focus will be on expanding knowledge and skills in the following key areas: Behavior Skills Training (BST), Break Systems, Executive Functioning, AAC Implementation, Proactive and Reactive Strategies, and enhancing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).Educators will leave this session with concrete tools and actionable strategies that they can immediately apply toimprove student behavior and learning outcomes, as well as an action plan to take back to your district.

The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) is widely considered the best instructional model to support multilingual learners (English learners) in English proficiency development and academic achievement. SIOP is the only empirically-validated model of sheltered instruction.Do you have multilingual learners in your school or classroom? Students with disabilities? Students who have been historically disenfranchised? Students who may need extra support with content concepts and skills? SIOP components and features can benefit all of these learners.This virtual SIOP Training is divided into 9 modules: 3 are synchronous (live) and 6 are asynchronous (at your own pace). This training incorporates a wide variety of technology tools into the SIOP model to support learning for ALL learners. Participants will have two weeks to complete all modules.This is an online event.**All sessions and asynchronous work must be attended and completed to receive SCECHs**

Teaching is the foundation of all professions, requiring educators to balance lesson planning, relationship-building, and numerous responsibilities. The New Teacher Academy supports K-12 general education teachers in their first three years through a seven-session series held throughout the year. Participants connect with peers, reflect on their practices, and refine their professional philosophy. Sessions focus on fostering a culture of high-quality instruction, enhancing professional reflection, and implementing strategies for student success. SCECHs earned in this series can be applied toward the additional hours required for new teachers.

What is an ISD? Intermediate School District

ISDs — which sometimes go by the name Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) or Educational Service Agency (ESA) — work with local school districts, the Michigan Department of Education, business and industry and community groups.



Each ISD works with its local school districts to develop the mix of products and programs to maximize benefits for that area. ISDs increase cost savings for schools, expand educational opportunities, provide professional learning for teachers, and much more.
