Time: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: WCCCD-Ted Scott Campus 9555 Haggerty Belleville, MI 48111

The Adaptive Schools Foundation and Advanced Seminars present a productive, practical set of ideas and tools for developing collaborative groups in becoming effective and better equipped to resolve complex issues around student learning. The work of the Adaptive Schools Seminars is to develop the resources and capacities of the organization and of individuals to cohesively respond to the changing needs of students and society. The training not only explores what makes teams effective, but how to develop skills as facilitators and informed group members in informal and formal settings, in small and large groups. It takes participants beyond the idea of professional learning communities to the actual implementation, describing specific ways to weave the collaborative fabric of a faculty, develop group member skills, and acquire the principles and understandings to engage in a continuous cycle of team and individual improvement. Adaptive Schools is the “how” of professional learning communities: how to behave in groups, how to lead them, and how to facilitate them for improved leading, teaching, and learning.

What do you value as a teacher of young children? Our values fundamentally shape our interactions with young children, as well as our expectations of their learning.Five core values, grounded in evidence from research, supported the development of the Essential Instructional Practices in Early Mathematics:Prekindergarten to Grade 5. These Essentials seek to promote high-quality, equitable teaching and learning for young children in the discipline of mathematics. In this professional learning, we will dive deeper into aligning our practices with the five core values by engaging in hands-on, interactive activities to ensure all children are receiving high-quality math instruction throughout the day. This Event is a repeat of Valuing Math in the Early Childhood Classroom offered in the 23/24 & 24/25 school year. If you attended in the previous years you should not register to attend again. This event is a prerequisite for attending the PreK Early Math Essentials Training.

What is an ISD? Intermediate School District

ISDs — which sometimes go by the name Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) or Educational Service Agency (ESA) — work with local school districts, the Michigan Department of Education, business and industry and community groups.

Each ISD works with its local school districts to develop the mix of products and programs to maximize benefits for that area. ISDs increase cost savings for schools, expand educational opportunities, provide professional learning for teachers, and much more.
