Board of Education Vacancy

Individuals interested in serving on the Dearborn Heights School District #7 Board of Education, who reside within the boundaries of the school district, may submit a letter of interest and resume to Wayne RESA.
Letters of interest and resumes must be received by 4:00 pm, September 19, 2024.

The Wayne RESA Board of Education will conduct interviews and appoint the successful candidate to fill the board seat vacated by the resignation of Nadia Nasir at a Special Board Meeting to be held on September 23, 2024, 4:00 p.m. at Wayne RESA Education Center, 33500 Van Born Road, Wayne, MI 48184.  This term will expire December 31, 2026.

The Wayne RESA Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the Wayne RESA Education Center, Boyd Arthurs Auditorium, 33500 Van Born Road, Wayne, Michigan 48184 to conduct interviews and appoint a successful candidate to fill a board vacancy at a constituent district. 

The Wayne RESA Board of Education will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. in the Wayne RESA Education Center, Boyd Arthurs Auditorium, 33500 Van Born Road, Wayne, Michigan 48184.

The Wayne RESA board is elected by one vote from each of the 33 local Wayne County school district boards. Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month. Meetings are posted and open to the public and time for public comment is available at every board meeting.

Highlights and Minutes

Proposed minutes of each of the meetings listed above will be available for public inspection during regular business hours at 33500 Van Born Road, Wayne, Michigan not more than eight business days after the date of said meeting; and approved minutes of each meeting will be available for public inspection during regular business hours, at the same location, not more than five business days after the meeting at which the minutes are approved.

Policies and Rules

State and Federal laws establish the general requirements for conduct of educational institutions. The Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency Board of Education is given responsibility for establishing policies for the implementation of these statutes.

Wayne RESA Board Policies provide guidance for staff in the conduct of their work and demonstrate the agency's compliance with State and Federal laws.

Rules are the approved operational procedures of Wayne RESA which describe practices and guidelines to be followed by all Wayne RESA personnel in carrying out the functions of the Agency.

These Policies and Rules do not contain any statutory language nor negotiated contract language, but may reference them.
