Wayne RESA is proud to be a partner working with school districts, agencies and families to best prepare young children for success in school and in life.  Our early childhood staff connect parents and service providers in Wayne County to resources and information. There is no cost to attend for schools participating in the School Nurse Consulting Services Cost-Sharing Program. Please email earlychildhood@resa.net to get your staff registered.

Early On® is an IDEA mandated initiative designed to provide unduplicated, comprehensive services to eligible infants and toddlers and their families. RESA collaborates with other Wayne County human service agencies in the delivery of services and acts as the fiscal agent for the nearly $2.5 million in Early On® funds.

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan's state-funded preschool for four-year-old children. Families qualify for free preschool based on annual income guidelines.

Early On® provides comprehensive services to eligible infants and toddlers and their families under the IDEA mandate. Wayne RESA partners with Wayne County agencies to deliver services and manages $2.5 million in Early On® funding.

Help Me Grow Wayne County Logo

Help Me Grow(opens in new window): A network of Wayne County community partners committed to ensuring ALL children under the age of 5 receive routine developmental screenings.

Help Me Grow is for families of all children (prenatal to age 5) who may need support with:

  • Behavior concerns
  • Parenting questions
  • Preschool (free or tuition)
  • Childcare
  • Basic needs, like diapers or formula
  • Home visiting
  • Developmental screening
  • Early On or Build Up referrals
